Gazes on the Earth: Sustainability, Agriculture and International Cooperation” in the foyer of Lavanderia a Vaporefrom – June 12 to June 14.

The 25th edition of the Interplay Festival will host the photo exhibition “Gazes on the Earth: Sustainability, Agriculture and International Cooperation” in the foyer of Lavanderia a Vapore in Turin for three days: from June 12 to June 14.

The photo exhibition “Gazes on the Earth” emerges from the experience and sensitivity of former students from the International Cooperation course of the Department of Agricultural, Forest and Food Sciences (DISAFA) and the Master’s program in Socio-Environmental Sustainability of Agri-Food Networks.
Through images, visitors will embark on a visual journey across agricultural landscapes, sustainable practices, and stories of international cooperation.

The photographs tell of the challenges and opportunities of sustainability in agriculture, bearing witness to the deep connection between rural communities and their land. From resilient crops in Sub-Saharan Africa to European agricultural ecosystems, and experiences of regenerative agriculture in Latin America, the exhibition explores the many forms of relationships between people, nature, and food production.

The goal is to raise public awareness about the importance of sustainable and inclusive agricultural models that can respond to global challenges such as climate change, food security, and social justice.
Each photograph is a fragment of reality that invites reflection—a visual story that highlights the crucial role of international cooperation in promoting agroecological practices that respect both the environment and local cultures.

On the occasion of the Interplay Dance Festival, the exhibition will be enriched by live musical accompaniment, emphasizing how photography, dance, and music are arts that intertwine with the earth.
An immersive experience where images converse with movement and sound, creating a collective narrative that celebrates the beauty and resilience of agricultural landscapes and the communities that inhabit them.

We invite everyone to be inspired by these gazes on the earth, bringing together different perspectives in a shared dialogue toward a fairer and more sustainable future.
